Darband (Tehran)
Darband is one of Tehran's neighborhoods, one of the old villages of Shemiran, in the north of Saad Abad Garden. This neighborhood is the northernmost point of Tehran city in terms of geographical coordinates.
Darband neighborhood is one of the cool and touristic areas of Tehran. Based on the surveys conducted, Darband is the first choice of Tehrani citizens for receiving foreign and city guests, followed by Fashm, Lavasan, Derke and Farahzad.
In the not so distant past, the Tati language was spoken in this neighborhood. Of course, the Tati language is still common in Darband villages such as Pas Qala.
Geography
Darband is located at an altitude of 1700 meters above sea level and is the beginning of one of the main routes for climbers to climb Central Alborz. Korerahi starts from Darband and ends at Duqlu waterfall and Shirpala shelter. The old neighborhoods of Darband are: Murgh Mahaleh (Mugh Mahaleh), Kanar Mahaleh, Kalagpar and Sarband. Darband River passes through the neighborhood; The flood of 1366 destroyed the Tajrish market. The main valleys of the Darband River are: Osun Valley, Cascade Valley, Imamzadeh Ebrahim Valley, Kak Valley, Ab Shirdara and Zone Valley. Darband Street starts at an altitude of 1,600 meters in Qods Square (Region 1 Municipality) and ends at an altitude of 1,800 meters in Sarband Square (mountaineer statue).
