Milad tower

Milad Tower of Tehran is a 435-meter telecommunication tower in the northwest of Tehran, which is the tallest tower in Iran, the sixth tallest telecommunications tower in the world, and the twenty-fourth tallest non-supported structure in the world. With 13,000 meters of infrastructure, this tower ranks first among all telecommunication towers in the world in terms of the usage area of the top of the tower. Milad Tower is visible from almost everywhere in Tehran due to its high height and different appearance, and therefore, it is considered one of the symbols of the capital of Iran, next to the Azadi Tower. Some believe that this tower was built on the Shahrak Gharb fault system. Milad Tower is bounded by Shahid Hammat highway from the north, Hakim highway from the south, Shahid Chamran highway from the east, and Sheikh Fazullah Nouri highway from the west. The construction of this tower lasted for 11 years.

Geographical location

Milad Tower is located in the middle of a hill with an area of approximately 62 hectares, located in the north of Koi Nasr neighborhood (Gisha) in District 2 of Tehran Municipality. In terms of geographical coordinates, the tower structure is located at 51 degrees, 22 minutes and 32 seconds of east longitude and 35 degrees, 44 minutes and 40 seconds of north latitude.

This place has been chosen after examining and studying 21 points and selecting 17 different points in Tehran by a group including the urban planning team, television study team, telecommunications, road and construction, economic, architecture, meteorology, traffic study team and geotechnical team.

Sky Dome (Milad Tower)

The sky dome is located at a height of 302 meters above the ground on the Milad tower, it is a glass dome with a height of 13 meters. Artworks are executed and installed on the octagonal wall of the center. The collection of these works was formed based on the symbols, myths and narratives of ancient Iran and shows the evolution of Iranian culture and civilization for nine thousand years during the Great Empire of Iran until the present time.
